Sell on Veean

Prohibited & restricted products

Some goods cannot be sold on Veean at all. Others can, but only once you can evidence that they meet UK requirements.

Why this list exists

Veean sells into the United Kingdom, and UK rules apply to everything that crosses the border. Because we act as the marketplace and, in many cases, as the importer, a non-compliant listing is not only the seller’s problem — it is ours too.

This list is not exhaustive. UK import rules change, and a product can be restricted for reasons that are not obvious from its category. If you are unsure, ask before you list rather than after.

Never permitted

These may not be listed on Veean under any circumstances:

  • Counterfeits and replicas — unauthorised branded goods, copies, and anything infringing another party’s trade mark, copyright or design right.
  • Alcohol and tobacco — including vaping products and nicotine pouches. Excise goods are outside our scope entirely.
  • Knives and offensive weapons — including flick knives, disguised blades, knuckledusters, and other items restricted under UK weapons legislation.
  • Firearms, ammunition, and their parts — including realistic imitation firearms and airsoft replicas.
  • Drugs and drug paraphernalia — controlled substances, psychoactive substances, and equipment for their use.
  • Prescription medicines and medical treatments — anything requiring a prescription, or presented as treating a medical condition.
  • Endangered species and derived products — ivory, protected furs, and anything restricted under CITES.
  • Explosives, fireworks, and hazardous chemicals.
  • Adult goods and obscene material.
  • Stolen goods, and devices for defeating security — lock picks sold for entry, signal jammers, card skimmers, and equipment marketed for circumventing access controls.
  • Live animals and perishable food — plus any food requiring temperature control in transit.
  • Human remains and bodily fluids.
  • Currency, financial instruments, and government documents — including forged or novelty identity documents.

Permitted with evidence

These are allowed, but only where the product meets UK requirements and you can produce the documentation on request. Listing one without being able to evidence compliance puts your account at risk.

  • Electrical goods — chargers, lighting, appliances and anything mains-powered. Must meet UK electrical safety requirements and carry the correct marking. Plugs supplied for the UK market must be UK three-pin.
  • Toys and children’s products — subject to toy safety requirements, including small-parts and age labelling.
  • Products containing lithium batteries — power banks, e-bike and scooter batteries, and anything with a built-in cell. Air transport of lithium cells is restricted, and some carriers will not take them at all.
  • Cosmetics and personal care — must meet UK cosmetics rules on ingredients, labelling and safety assessment.
  • Personal protective equipment — including respirators and safety eyewear.
  • Medical devices — including thermometers and blood pressure monitors. Registration requirements apply.
  • Machinery, pressure equipment and radio equipment — including anything transmitting on a licensed frequency.
  • Food supplements — subject to UK composition and labelling rules.
  • Jewellery containing precious metals — hallmarking requirements apply above certain weights.
  • Products bearing another brand’s name — permitted only where you are the brand owner or hold written authorisation to resell.

What compliance means in practice, and what documentation to keep, is in product safety.

How this is enforced

Listings are reviewed, and we act on reports from buyers, brand owners and regulators. Where a listing breaches these rules we will remove it and tell you why.

Depending on what was listed and whether it has happened before, we may also hold a payout, suspend the account or end the relationship. Counterfeits and safety breaches are not treated as first offences.

If you think a removal was wrong, you can respond — see disputes and appeals.

If you are not sure

Ask us before you list. A question costs nothing; a removed listing costs you the work of creating it, and a pattern of them costs you the account.

Email sellers@veean.app with the product and, if you have them, any certificates or test reports you hold. Writing in Chinese is fine.

Not sure which side of the line a product falls on? Ask first — in Chinese is fine.
